  23. NO it won't, you get the 3060 version that will :=)  But of course
  24. Phase-5 does not recommend this board...hmmm ....The thing I'm scared 
  25. about with the 060 is the horror stories from many on the net about 
  26. random freezes, scsi bugs, and other stuff.

  28. IMHO I would get a warp engine.  Incredibly stable board, fully supported 
  29. by the OS-no cyberpatcher needed.  Fully compatible with ShapeShifter, 
  30. etc....(that is get a warp engine IF you are going to get an accelerator 
  31. today.

  38. There is a A3060 board as I said, and the macrosystems people seem to be 
  39. taking their sweet time coming out with a 060 Warp Engine.  Latest I 
  40. heard was "May 1996".  But it would be interesting to see how they can 
  41. "upgrade" my 3040 warp engine since the cpu is soldered to the board... I 
  42. think it would have to be a board replacement.  But I even question if it 
  43. is worth it to go for any new accelerator right now, when PPC boards are 
  44. so close....but then again those PPC boards are from Phase-5 :=)  They 
  45. have good intentions, but they never seem to make their (optimistic) 
  46. deadlines.  Hopefully there will be no chip shortage with the PPC boards 
  47. like there is (and are) with the 060 boards.
